In its fourth year of publication, the State of the Forest Carbon Markets report series offers an un-paralleled, comprehensive view of the financial and technical landscape of the market for forest carbon offsets. Covering New Ground: State of the Forest Carbon Markets 2013, produced and launched by Forest Trendsʼ Ecosystem Marketplace, offers the latest findings on forest carbon projectsʼ structure, standards, and finance. This report series remains Ecosystem Marketplaceʼs most widely-accessed research product. The 2013 edition builds on an extensive data collection effort to explore topics ranging from the “whoʼs”, “whereʼs”, and “whyʼs” of offset demand; to the time-cost of the project cycle; to the changing dynamics of global forest finance. Informed by hundreds of survey responses from practitioners representing projects in over 30 country locations – coupled with dozens of first-hand interviews – this report covers new ground that will undoubtedly inform a range of policy, practitioner and investment actions in the year to come.
