GERT was a Canadian, multi-stakeholder consensus-based initiative established to learn about greenhouse gas (GHG) emission reduction trading (ERT) through the review of actual projects. The Pilot ran from 1998 through 2002. This Report documents what GERT participants learned during the operation of the Pilot and includes a stakeholder evaluation of how well GERT achieved its objectives. The purpose of the Report is to communicate what has been learned to those who can carry it forward in other initiatives or systems involving emission reduction project design and validation.
