Optimism Greets New Draft Climate Text

Climate talks are starting to get serious, with a new and relatively lean draft negotiating text emerging this morning. The mood, for now, is cautiously optimistic, as the INDC structure allows for unprecedented flexibility. For now, the text is just 50 pages, down from 55 earlier in the week, and much of that is “bracketed”, meaning conditional. Here’s the latest.
